Kung Fu

Kung Fu: the word conjures up images of Martial Arts Monks flying through the air doing seemingly impossible stunts using a variety of menacing looking weapons. Kung Fu, however, is something anyone can do and many people liken it to dance and ballet. It is the "art" side of the Martial Arts. Kung Fu or Gong Fu is a Chinese word that means being skilled in something and has become synonymous with Chinese Martial Arts.

In Masters Studios Kung Fu program, students first learn fundamentals such as line kicks, stances, and stretching techniques. Then the students learn standardized Kung Fu forms such as Long Fist (Chang Chuan) and Southern Fist (Nan Chuan). In learning these forms the students focus on proper hand and arm position, stances, posture, where to look, and understanding the fighting strategy of the form.

Weapon training begins next. Weapon fundamentals are learned first, followed by the weapon routine. Some of the routines taught are staff, broadsword, straight sword, spear, three section staff, double broadsword, Guan Dao, and more. After a short time, the students will see improvement in their flexibility, strength, endurance, and balance.
